Model: Archer C20
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I have Archer C20 router. I didn't use it for the last couple of months and now I want to try it out as an extender for my existing service provider. To do that, I'm trying to login to its admin panel but I don't see the http://192.168.0.1 page loading successfully. I can see that my gateway is taking the same ip as 192.168.0.1 and even I can ping it but using a browser it doesn't open.

I tried factory reset using Tether app but it also did not solve the issue. Please provide me further pointers to solve this issue.

Note: I don't have a broadband connection as of now. So, can't connect my router to the internet.

@tarun4u try opening tplinkwifi.net in your browser. Its an alternative to the default 192.168.0.1, and works even if your router IP is different.

Hi, please check and verify if the 192.168.0.x IP is assigned by this C20, ensure the computer is only connected to this C20 with cable or wireless, and it is connected to the existing service provider's router. You can temporarily turn off that router, leave the computer is connected to the C20 by cable, then check again what is the gateway and IP address on the router, try to login again.

Hi @Kevin_Z, As you told, I tried to keep just my laptop connected with this C20 router but still I'm seeing the same issue. I suspect if it's related to firmware. Would you suggest me to go for firmware upgrade. But for this also I need to access admin panel, right? Is there any other way round?

Hi, you are correct, you will need to access its web GUI first to upgrade the firmware.

If there is still no way to access the web admin page of the router, we recommend reaching out to the local tech support, so they can work with you in looking into the issue further or help with the replacement:
