WIFI LINK connection dropping !
WIFI LINK connection dropping !
Hi everyone !
Im trying to contact tplink support but cant find any email so maybe this is the right place ??
Im having a problem with my AX11000 when it makes a connection with my laptop ( link connection of 2.4 or sometime 1.2 ) and few houres later about 4 to 5h the link connection falls down to 250mb or 270mb and only sulotion turn off my notebook wifi and back on !
Its now been the 5th time it happens and i know when it happen when i go download something and i see the speed wont pass 250mb and i have 600mb fiber connection, so when the download is slow i go to wifi properties and i notice the 2.4 or 1.2 link connection is down to 250MB and then i turn wifi off and on and it go back to 1.2 and them my download go back to 500mb or 600mb depends !
Is this a hardware problem or a fix is on the way in the future ? is there any sulotion for it ? somthing in settings need to be done ?
Please any help or if there is a way to conttac Tplink for support i thank all fo you..
I have a video of it dono if or who to upload it !

Hi Kevin !
first my apologies I read a lot and maybe I didn't notice it, or passed it by mistake !
I have this problem and the 2.4 link connection just can get it after restarting the AX11000 ! Usually I get 1.2Gbps and later it falls to 280mb and turning off and on my notebook Wi-Fi would get it back to 1.2Gbps and restarting AX11000 would get me the 2.4Gbps ...
but I saw the beta update and it's about Mesh I think that's the name and didn't see if it has any other improvement so I decided to try it out !
and VOALA ! It's been like 15H and never dropped speed plus it's been 15H on the 2.4Gbps links speed never dropped to 1.2 like before !
so the beta update solved both problems I had ! And now working perfectly !
I think this update should been out now cos some ppl won't bother come here and think it's defective and return it and buy another brand !
So it should be out to solve those things and later can get another update in case other área need more testing !
my opinion :)
thank you so much :)

Hi, I previously thought this was resolved by choosing the wireless security as WPA2 on the AX11000 as described on the below thread:

Did you have a fixed 5G wireless channel on the AX11000, can we have the screenshot of the 5G wireless settings page? You can cover the SSID and password for any security concerns.

Thank you very much for the valued update. The new official Onemesh firmware will be released soon, we here provided a beta version as some customers wait for the Onemesh feature for long time.

just to keep you updated !
never had any issse at all !
plus the 2.4 link speed between Intel AX200 and the AX11000 never dropped !
Left my notebook 3 days on and 2.4 link speed was maintained all the time !
now i can say I'm happy with my new router !
by the way the speed test on the AX11000 is kinda buggy no ?
cos when I test speed on phone or laptop i get 500 to 520mb but the built one on the AX give me 300/320mb just one time got 500mb while same time test on laptop was 500mb and there should be 4K approved option cos FHD is getting old for the AX11000 4K and even 8K would be nicer :)
thanks a lot

As for the built-in speedtest on the router, it picks up a speedtest server automatically in the network, while it may not be the ideal one, thus you may get a slower speed than what you are paying for. Don't worry, this is not true, you can confirm what is the actual speed by wiring a computer directly to the router, and run the speedtest app, I'm sure you can get a more accurate speed test result. If this is normal comparing with what you are paying for, that is the actual speed you've got.
Do not confuse theoretical speed and actual speed, these could and usually are different. To know more about the difference, check this article:

Hello Kevin !
Want to give you a feedback ! the new AX11000 Firmware made the AX connection worst !
with the Beta one had solid 2.4Gbps connection and rearly dropped to 2.1Gbps !
Now after the new one i made a reset and even though its hard for it to keep the 2.4Gbps !
most of time its between 1.7Gbps and 1.9Gbps and hardly 2.1Gbps and 2.4Gbps !
On the Beta i could leave my notebook on 48h and rearly it drops from the 2.4Gbps dono what happened with the official firmware !
Dont think i can go back to the beta ?
Will there be any new beta or official update or this is the last one ?
thank you

So still only the lenovo thinkbad T480 has this speed drop issue, right? What is the wireless security now on the AX11000? Please try to fix it to WPA2-PSK, AES, then check again.
BTW, can we have screenshots of the link speed when it is on 2.4Gbps and when it drops to 1.7Gbps? Have you ever tested this laptop with other Wi-Fi 6 networks, will it connect at 2.4Gbps?

@Kevin_Z uh the only one that can reach the 2.4Gbps is my lapotp ! others i have iphone 11 Ax and Samsung s21 but both dont reach 2.4Gbps ! so the thinkpad is my only one. as you see too in photos never on 2.4Gbps it will get it but as said hardly. maybe restarting wifi will make it on 2.4Gbps now ill change security to 2 and check.
