M5(3.0) Upgrade Firmware
Hi,
I tried to upgrade the firmware either via app or via web but they keep saying that the firmware are already up to date. However, when I check the website https://www.tp-link.com/id/support/download/deco-m5/v3/#Firmware, there's latest firmware Deco M5(US)_V3_1.5.4_210302. For some reasons either the app or the web don't recognize this latest firmware.
Is it safe for me to upgrade to the latest firmware manually? Please advise.

May I know what is the region version of your Deco M5, is it a customized version provided by the local ISP? BTW, who is your ISP?
Generally, if you cannot detect the generic version on the Deco app for the device, it is not suggested updating manually, as they may not be compatible.

I'm in Indonesia and I bought it from one of the online store here in Indonesia. It isn't bundled to any ISPs.
I believe the region version of my Deco M5 is US version as it says Model: Demo M5(3-pack)(US) Ver: 3.0 on the box.

If they are all generic US version hardware, and you cannot get the new firmware notified on the Deco app, you can download and install the firmware manually.

Hi, as mentioned earlier, if the region version printed on the Deco device label is a US version, you can install the firmware manually. You can also confirm this with the local tech support.
However, if you do worry about the internet connectivity, it is suggested waiting for the new firmware notification pushed to your device either on the Deco web GUI or Deco app.
