Deco S4 Signal Source / Slow speeds
Hi.
I have 6 Deco S4 units. The only deco where I can get the full 400 Mbps speed is the main deco. All other decos get 100 Mbps. I did a test and connected one deco via ethernet backhaul and it then provided speeds of 400 Mbps. However I still have 4 slow decos. I don't want to connect all via Ethernet backhaul.
All decos only connect to the main deco for some reason. I would like them to source off each other or at least some could use the deco with the ethernet backhaul.
So I guess my questions are...
1. Is there anything else I can try to get 400 Mbps on all Decos?
2. I read another product has beta firmware that allow you to control the signal source, is something like this available for the S4?

Start with checking signal source on Satellite Decos, in Deco app. You should see this or better to have good speeds on devices connected to that Satellite:
If you have yellow/red bars, you will need to move that Satellite closer to Main.
Also, note that Satellite Deco is, technically speaking, WiFi range extender. Google for:
wifi range extender bandwidth cut by half
to see why you won't be getting 400Mbps on Satellites wirelessly connected to Main, and why speed could be even worse if Satellite is connected to another Satellite that is connected to Main Deco.
With optimally placed Satellite S4 and low WiFi interference from neighbors networks, expect about 200-250Mbps.
