Many times at random time intervals, I lost connection with the tp link extender. In order to connect my PC again I turn on the airplane mode (from my PC) and turn off. Then, the connection with tp link extender is back again and I has access on the internet.

 

Do you have any idea why it fails. Should I look my computer network settings or tp link settings

Please confirm RE is on the latest firmware, select the hardware version and check the latest firmware for TL-WA860RE here:

If RE LEDs look normal when issue happen, you could log in to Range extender's web page and set up a static IP address for RE as FAQ below and see if that help with unstable issue: 

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2965/

 

If issue persists, may I know does other devices like mobile phones work stably or also lost Internet at the same time? 

How about the Led status on RE when issue happens.  
-What is the model of main router? - May I know your network topology, what is the firmware & hardware version of your RE, thank you
