Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1

Upgraded from Archer C7 to Archer AX73. Used to run the C7 with the M4 AC1200 Deco system. Now I cannot connect the new router to the MESH system. It says no internet connection even after I keyed in and configured the PPPoE access. Are my new router and the AC1200 compatible?

Hi, if the AX73 is the main router, then you may change the Deco M4 into Access Point mode, the typical network layout could be as follows:

If you still want to configure the Deco M4 in Router mode, please ensure the WAN connection type is Dynamic IP on the Deco app when configuring, but not PPPoE.

Yes, they are compatible.

Can we confirm how is the AX73 connected to the Deco M4, which one is the main router? Who is your ISP, please?

If the AX73 is the main router, please ensure the ISP modem is plugged into the WAN port of the AX73 firmly and correctly, confirm if the internet LED is red or green after typing the correct PPPoE credentials.

If the Deco M4 is the main router, you can try to configure the AX73 into Access Point mode to see if it will connect to the internet as follows:

@Kevin_Z ISP is TM UNIFI (Malaysia). AX73 is main router. M4 (2 units) are the extended mesh network. Previously I used the Archer C7 as the main router and successfully connected the M4 units to this router. My modem is connected correctly to the AX73 and I have full Internet access via cable and WiFi. I connect Lan 2 on the AX73 to Lan 1 of one of the units of M4. This was also how I connected the previous Archer C7 to the M4. When I setup using the Deco app on mobile phone... I get the failure at the point after I setup the mesh network, join mesh network, but when accessing the Internet, it says 'Unable to connect to Internet' check if your PPPoE is correct.... I'm sure I keyed in the ISP account name and password correctly. Are there other settings to look into?

@Kevin_Z thanks. Fixed the issue. Mesh network is now fully connected.

One final question. The AX73 router is setup in Unifi mode. So Lan 1 port is marked as IPTV and Lan 4 port is marked as VOIP. I want to change both to 'Internet' as I don't use IPTV or VOIP. How to do that? Thanks once again!

@Heinzreudi

Hi, if there is no IPTV or VoIP in the network, you may disable the IPTV/VLAN option, then all the LAN ports should be working for the Internet access.

If the IPTV/VLAN option must be enabled, you go to Advanced > Network > IPTV/VLAN page, change the LAN1 and LAN4 ports to Internet, Save and reboot the router.
