Sadly, this is still very much an active issue. I have been following this thread for a few months now hoping for an update / resolution. I also did try all the troubleshooting steps and was not able to resolve the matter other than when switching to AP mode or using different router hardware such as Netgear Orbi which doesn't exhibit this issue.

  @Kevin_Z

I am also having this problem.  I recently upgraded my internet service to 1Gbit speeds.  Previously I was using a Linksys EA8300.  This had no issues with wired connections reaching 900+Gb/s.  After the upgrade I decided to get a TP-Link AX11000.  I normally get 930Gb/s download but every couple of days the upload drops to around 200-300Gb/s.  Sometimes a restart of the router fixes this issue.  Other times I have to completely shut it down, unplug and start back up for upload to return to normal.  Here is the requested info:

All recommended settings are as mentioned at the top of this thread.

All tests were run using SpeedTest App for Windows with wired connection and going through same server location, not AX11000 built in Speed Test Function

Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 20220221 rel.50072(5553)

Hardware Version: Archer AX11000 v1.0

- Name of your ISP - Ziply Fiber (Washington State Area)

- Model of the ISP provided modem - Frontier Branded ONT I-211M-L

- Download and Upload bandwidth provided by ISP - 1Gb/s up/down

- Speedtest result when connecting to the ISP modem - When directly to ONT 941.1up/935.69 down

- Speedtest result when connecting to the TP-Link router with an Ethernet cable - 295.38 up/930.61 down.

I tried a slightly different test this morning when the problem occurred.

Step 1

I Re-verified all settings were as recommended (not changed since last time)

Performed Speed Test through AX11000: Computer -> AX11000 -> ONT

295.38Mb/s Up

930.61Mb/s Down

Step 2

Performed Speed Test directly through ONT: Computer -> ONT

935.69Mb/s Up

941.4Mb/s Down

Step 3

Reperformed Speed Test in Step 1:

933.81Mb/s Up

941.51Mb/s Down

I did not restart any equipment between tests.  Just unplugged and plugged in network cables as needed for tests.

For everyone's information.  I worked with TP-Link support on this issue.  I currently have a Version 1 AX11000 router.  Support sent a link for beta firmware that is supposed to be released soon.  I have not had any of the speed dropout issues since changing to this firmware.  Also, the built-in speed test is far more accurate.  The link for the beta is https://static.tp-link.com/upload/beta/2022/202205/20220518/ax11000v1-up-ver1-3-0-P1[20220517-rel55480]_nosign_2022-05-17_15.29.23.zip.

I am going on a month now with no issues since installing the beta.

Hope this helps.

  @G1owingNuke Just to be clear you are saying that the AX11000 (beta) can now do 1GB U/D without dropoff? IOW we get the badwidth we paid for?

  @djrtnyc

It would appear so. I just did a speed check with the built in tester with the following results, 904.5/900.6 Mbps D/U. Wired connection with my laptop gives around 950 Mbps D/U using Ookla Speedtest.

I do have my router perform a weekly restart on its own, however, before the beta, I was having to do additional restarts (2-3) each week to stabilize. I haven't touched the router, other than speed checks every other day, since installing the beta.

One thing I did notice is that the initial speed tests, within the first 24 hours of installing the beta, were even less accurate than before. But after 24 hours they started showing more accurate results.

@Willportun

Thank you very much for following up on this topic.

Can you please confirm if you've configured the QoS settings correctly on the AXE300 (if you've ever modified the settings)? You can follow the guide to review all the settings on the router:

If the issue persists, please let us know, and we would be happy to help it out.

I have a similar issue with the Deco X20.

Scenarios:

  1. Computer connected directly to the modem (PPPoE): 700Mbps/350Mbps (Download/Upload);
  2. Computer connected (Ethernet) to the Deco X20 v2.0, AP mode and Deco X20 connected to the ISP router (DHCP): 700Mbps/350Mbps (Download/Upload)
  3. Computer connected (Ethernet) to the Deco X20 v2.0, Router mode and Deco X20 connected to the ISP router (DHCP): 700Mbps/150Mbps (Download/Upload)
  4. Computer connected (Ethernet) to the Deco X20 v2.0, Router mode and Deco X20 connected to the modem (PPPoE): 700Mbps/150Mbps (Download/Upload)

There's no firmware update addressing the issue, as far as I am aware of. Downloads are ok, but there is something weird about the upload.
