Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 Build 20210204 Rel. 50164

Hi TP-Link & friends,

I have a FTTH Router/Modem -> Deco X60(Main) -> 2x Deco X60 (Satellites on ethernet backhaul)

The Deco units are configured to AP Mode, and the Router/Modem serves DHCP.

I have configured below list of things on the Router/Modem to reduce possible problems...

  1. Turned Wifi off
  2. Turned IPV6 off
  3. Reserved 3 sets of LAN IPs for each of the 3 Deco X60 units

My FTTH's PPPOE connection and modem log shows persistent internet connection via GPON, but several times a day, the 3 Deco X60 would turn RED and needs to be rebooted... Usually rebooting the main deco resumes GREEN LED for some time. Then it repeats...

Has anyone experienced the same problems and found a fix?

Cheers

@FindMyZero

Hi, I would like to forward your case to the senior engineers for further assistance, and could you please help me check the following information as well:

1.May I know the model number of the FTTH Router/Modem?

2. is there any network switch, or all the Deco units are connected to the main router?

@TP-Link

Over the past 2 months I have had the FTTH ISP change a couple of models

  1. ASKEY RTF8207W
  2. Dasan H660WM (In use currently)

There are 2 switches in the network, and the Deco X60s are all connected via Ethernet Backhaul.

  1. TP-LINK TL-SG105
  2. DLINK DCS-1005A

                                           X60(#2)

                                                 |

H660WM -> X60(Main) -> TL-SG105 -> NAS, PC

       |

DCS-1005A -> AppleTV, Set Top Box (IPTV from ISP)

       |

  X60(#3)

I noticed that the ethernet cables connecting X60(#3) to H660WM, and X60(#3) to DCS-1005A were those flat Cat5e cables, so I have replaced them with proper shielded round CAT5e cables instead. It seems to be more stable now, but it's only been a weekend and I am still testing.

It could possibly be that these flat CAT5e cables are prone to interference and causing some issues with the backhaul to X60(Main) resulting the main deco to enter RED LED or flashing RED LED states.
