[Deco M5] 5Ghz channel width

Currently my internet connection is 200Mbps up and down. But whenever the 5Ghz channel width is set to 20Mhz I can only get 120Mbps max. "Sometimes" I can see that the channel width is 80Mhz and I can fully utilize my internet speed to 200Mbps. The question is, how can I "lock" the channel width to 80Mhz?

Hi, did the Deco M5 staying on the channel 20mhz most of the time?
Have you tried the network optimization on the APP?
By the way, when channel width is switching from 20mhz to 80mhz, did the channel change as well?

Yes the channel width stays at 20Mhz most of the time. May be two-three times a week it will run on 80Mhz, but just for a few hours. Tried the channel optimization a few times but still no luck. When the channel width switched from 20Mhz to 80Mhz the channel stays at 149. Wifi country is set (automatically?) to ID, hardware is US. I have two M5 and they connected to UTP backhaul.

Hi, thanks for the update.
Current Deco does not support manually changing the channel and channel width.
Since lower bandwidth has less interference and is more stable, sometimes, Deco would tend to be on the lower bandwidth.
And not all the wireless clients support higher band width 80mhz.

If that so can you suggest me another mesh router from TP-Link that can manually change the channel width? I'm aware that not all device support certain 5Ghz channel/width, in that case they can use 2.4Ghz.
IF, none of TP-Link product able to do that, I will definitely gonna look for another brand. Thanks for your prompt reply.

Hi, for the Deco Mesh series, this feature is not available.
The OneMesh router would be a suitable product:

One thing to note, however, is that two OneMesh™ routers cannot create a mesh network. A OneMesh™ router can only be combined with OneMesh™ range extenders or OneMesh™ powerline adapters to build mesh networks
Another difference is that OneMesh™ products do not support Ethernet backhaul now

This is driving me crazy. Most of the time I'm getting less than half of the speed I am paying for. Is there any beta or custom firmware that can lock the channel width to 80Mhz? I'm using ethernet backhaul so I think it's nothing to do with the Deco's talking each other using wifi signal on 20Mhz?
