TPLink AX6000 5Ghz SSID not visible when connected to main router in 5Ghz_WDS mode
I am trying to do wireless bridging between my main router (Airtel GPON Router) and AX6000 using 5Ghz_WDS. The connection becomes successful and I am also able to use 2.4 Ghz SSID of AX6000 but I am not able to find 5Ghz SSID even though it is different one from the main router.
The opposite thing happens when I bridge via 2.4 Ghz_WDS. At that time, 5 Ghz SSID of AX6000 is visible but 2.4 Ghz does not work.
LAN connection works perfectly fine.
Smart Connect is disabled, DHCP is disabled and Router IP falls in the IP range of the main router but still issue persists.
I have rebooted the router and performed factory reset as well but issue still persists.
Mailed the issue to TPLink customer care but no response.
Can anybody help?

Once you bridge wirelessly, u wont have any option to change the channel in the 2nd router and the main router is already set to channel 36.
I think the issue is with the firmware.

The idea of the solution is before building WDS, to set the host device (Airtel GPON Router) on U-NII-1 band (choose one of these channels 36/40/44/48) reboot both devices, then build WDS.
When you're on the channel 36 (on host device) the extended device (AX6000) will try to build the WDS on that channel.
If it doesn't work for you and judging by your description that on 2.4GHz band is the same then @Kevin_Z may advise you further.

@terziyski Thank you for tagging for attention.
I would say, this is the firmware design that the router would use one frequency to link to the main router, and leave the other for the client devices to connect.
BTW, the AX6000 is mainly designed to be working as the main router, bridging with another wireless network would not be the recommended feature.

In that case, wont the speed differ? If you connect to 2.4 Ghz, u generally get 1/3 of yor speed so whats the point in implementing this solution.
Yes, I was also using AX6000 as my primary router when I had PPPoE connection but now I am using DSL connection and the Broadband provider has provided a GPON router.

I too had the same problem, for some reason 5Ghz WDS was not working, survey to check nearby 5Ghz result in 0 devices, had to change channel to 36 to successfully connect, but when connected to Nokia modem I got no internet, I even have Tenda router configured as WDS connected to my main router(Nokia), even connected to Tenda, viola WDS working on 5Ghz.
Setup configured:-
Nokia router -->Tenda Router --> Tp Link Router
All Above connections are configured in 5Ghz.
