I have the pink version which appears to be Chinese so does this make a difference ? I can't connect to 192.168.0.254

This is a Chinese version, the login domain or IP address may not be the same, you can try tplogin.cn to see if you can login to the web interface page. Check the guide for more details:

https://service.tp-link.com.cn/detail_download_1783.html

 

Please be aware that this cannot be converted to English version, as it is designed and sold only in the mainland China.

 

If you still cannot login or make it work as requested, try to contact the technical support that is responsible for this kind of product in China and see if they can help you with the installation. They also provide online service:

https://service.tp-link.com.cn/public/customer/pc/im-soho.html

Thanks for reply. Yes it is the chinses version and I can log in with 192.168.1.253 but of course all in Chinese. I read some have successfully flashed this version with English firmware but it did'nt work with me
