Model: Deco X90
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20210720 Rel. 44578

Deco EU/1.0

Model: Deco x90(EU)

Hi, my ISP provider is TalkTalk UK, I am currently on the 500Mbps download and 70Mbps upload FTTP package.

I have an ethernet cable plugged directly into the FTTP (ONT) on the wall, and the other end of the ethernet is plugged into the back of the DECO 1Gbps ethernet slot. My ISP provided router is not used in this configuration, as this DECO x90 unit also handles the Routing. Its currently configured to Dynamic IP within the DECO App, for FTTP configuration.

I currently have these units acting as a Wireless mesh as intended, the backend is wireless.

Conducting various speed tests connected via wired ethernet I can speed reach an average maximum of 480-500 Mbps and uploads of 67Mbps-70Mbps.

I have several WiFi 6 devices, M1 Macbook Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and a WiFi 6 compatible motherboard in my gaming PC.

M1 Macbook Pro - next to the DECO Unit I see speeds of 300Mbps-380Mbps, it fluctuates. Sometimes it drops less than 300Mbps, right next to it. Uploads stay consistent 67Mbps-70Mbps. Average Ping 11-12-13 and Average Jitter less than 1

iPhone 12 Pro Max - next to the DECO Unit I see speeds of 300Mbps-380Mbps, it fluctuates. Sometimes it drops less than 300Mbps, right next to it. Uploads stay consistent 67Mbps-70Mbps. Average Ping 11-12-13 and Average Jitter less than 1

In the same room, several metres away from the DECO Unit I see speeds drop less than 300Mbps, averaging somewhere around 240-280Mbps.

I have performed these speeds test results with QoS enabled and disabled, it still says the same.

I have performed several network optimizations within the App, currently, the channels are set to: 2.4ghz (ch8) 5GHz-1 Wireless: (ch36) and 5GHz-2 Wireless (ch104)

On the second floor, this is where I have the second Deco Unit, the speedtest.net results varies on my gaming PC I can see 240-280Mbps download and 67-70Mbps upload. On my M1 Macbook Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, speeds are also relatively the same as my gaming PC.

To conclude this thread, my question is, why am I not able to see speeds greater than 300Mbps, as others have reported on YouTube and on this forum that they can pull similar speeds based on their ISP package? I have seen threads where some users can pull 500Mbps on wireless and 900Mbps.

@SilverBackX

Hi, I would like to follow up on your case by email, and at the same time, could you please help check the following details:

1. Could you please also test the Ethernet speed from the main Deco X90

2. Please also check the Link speed on the M1 MacBook pro in case the fluctuating speed is caused by the unstable link speed;

2. Would it be possible to connect the gaming PC to the main Deco and help me check the link speed on the gaming PC?

Thank you very much.
