Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: x73v1-eu-up-ver1-1-2-P1[20210727-rel38345]_nosign_2021-07-27_10.54.50

The RU version of the latest AX73 beta firmware (1-1-2-P1[20210727-rel38345) already has a torrent client and support for 3G / 4G modems. When installing the same firmware (it is multi-regional) on the EU-version of AX73, there is no torrent and modem support. The TP-Link techsupport replied me by mail, that this is not in demand in Europe, and that they will not be available for EU!

I, as the owner of the AX73 EU-version, would also like to have a torrent client and support for cellular modems. Doesn't anyone in Europe want a built-in torrent client and modem support anymore? Why can't this be done for everyone regions? This is discrimination !!!

Hello, thanks for asking.

The torrent client and 3G/4G modems function are added in the beta firmware, while both are not available on the new official version release recently, I guess they will soon be available in the future official firmware. If you need these features, it's suggested to keep the beta firmware until the next official firmware is released.

They are not in the beta version of the firmware if it is installed on the EU version of the router. If the same beta firmware version is installed on a router with a RU region, torrent and modems are available. This is what I am talking about. The same beta release on two routers gives different results. There is some kind of incomprehensible ban on torrent and modems for EU

Does this mean you have tested the same beta version on both the EU version and RU version? Do you own two Archer AX73?

I can only find the EU version on the local website below:

https://www.tp-link.com/ru/support/download/archer-ax73/#Firmware

If you do own a RU version, it's suggested to discuss the customized version in the local community, as that community moderator will be more familiar with the device sold in the local market:

@Kevin_Z

Yes, I had the opportunity to test the same beta ax73v1-eu-up-ver1-1-2-P1 [20210727-rel38345] _nosign_2021-07-27_10.54.50.bin on several AX73 (EU and RU) with my friends. The same firmware behaves differently depending on which router is installed on. A torrent client and modems appears on RU, but not on EU. In my opinion, this is wrong. This discriminates against me as the owner of the EU. I want a torrent client too. And I really want to see all the functionality in the final release - no matter what region my router has. The functionality of the router should not be so drastically dependent on the region. In all regions, users want as many options as possible. The local support told me that the torrent client and modems is not needed by anyone in Europe, so for EU routers it will most likely not be in the final release. If so, it would be a wrong decision.

As far as I know, the features you mentioned are requested and customized to be added to the Archer AX73(RU) version, we will not know if these will be added to the EU version, or if there is a necessity.

Back to your request, we would like to forward the case to the local support team, they will contact you via email to discuss and provide a solution.

@Kevin_Z

Yes, I figured it out from communication with the local support. And that's exactly what I'm talking about: the request for these functions for routers with the EU region is no less than for other regions. This is exactly what I want to draw your attention to. The AX73 router initially has extremely weak functionality. And needs empowerment. It is unfair to deprive users of EU versions of new functions. The final release of the new firmware should not be functionally cut for some regions.
