Hello,

I have long-lasting problems with my Deco m4 setup so finally I decided to ask for help.

My main issue is unstable connection - usually it is about 30% of lost pings and that is unbearable as it still disconnects me from calls. I will point this at the begining - I always have blue light illuminating from all my Deco units. Here is example:

Ping statistics for 13.32.99.22:

Packets: Sent = 863, Received = 658, Lost = 205 (23% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 16ms, Maximum = 898ms, Average = 30ms

Moreover there are other thinks that worries me. I got many warnings in my system logs and unfortunately, as I am not a specialist, I do not really understand them. Here is another example:

user.emerg syslog: Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
user.emerg syslog: uci: Entry not found
user.emerg syslog: net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-custom = 1
daemon.crit awn[1419]: [awnd_update_wifi_tpie:895]: config_generic failed awnd_update_tpie(): ath02[-1]
daemon.crit awn[1419]: [awnd_update_wifi_tpie:895]: config_generic failed awnd_update_tpie(): ath12[-1]
user.emerg syslog: tp217,505[1821]:
user.emerg syslog: tp217,504[1821]:

The other thing is Deco CPU Load and Memory Usage - it is almost all the time at 70-90%. I don't really know if the usage should be that high.

I tried to connect few different devices - my own PC, family laptops and smartphones - with the same results. I digged this forum and tried many solutions, but unfortunalely none works for me.

This is my Deco Map

If you have any solutions, I would be really grateful :))

@Turlej

Hi,

May I know how satellite Deco units connect to the main Deco, by Ethernet wire or wireless?

Have you checked whether the Ethernet connection has the same packet loss rate? Please also turn off the 2.4ghz and check the packet loss rate of the 5ghz?

As for the LED lights, I think you might try to say all the units have a solid white light?—or Can I have a picture or video clip about the blue light?

And when the internet disconnected, were you connected to the Wi-Fi but no internet service? Or the Wi-Fi has been disconnected already?

How did you restore the internet connection, rebooting the Deco, or it could come back automatically?

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link, thank you for reply.

Deco units are connected wireless - as I can see in my mobile app they have quite a good signal.

I tried both of our suggestions - the internet is a little better - I have about 15-20% of lost signal. However it still disconnects me from calls, so I can't really work. Moreover unfortunaltely one of my family members has got old laptop and it does not support 5GHz , so I would really like to have 2,4GHz turned on.

About the LED Lights - you are right - I meant solid white light. And as I am aware it is good sign?

When the internet is disconnected, I am always connected to Wi-Fi. I got really good signal everywhwere in my house - I am really pleased with this about Deco Mesh.

I am just getting those gaps with Request timed out. - I am still connected but the system says there is no service.

I don't need to reboot the Deco or do anything to restore connection. It usually comes back automatically after 3-4 lost signals (Request timed out).

I tried using different router I borrowed form my internet provider and it got rid of the issue, but I was not satisfied with the signal it provided. And I've only had my Deco mesh for a few months, so I'd rather not spend a lot more on setup.

Best Regards!

@Turlej

Hi, The solid white LED is a good sign.

I would like to follow up on your case by email and could you please help me check more details as well:

How many online devices do you have? And what are they?

@TP-Link Thanks,

Usually this is my PC and about two more laptops + one, maybe two smartphones.

However it is mostly often just my own PC - as i checked additional devices does not affect network stability.
