Model: Deco M4  
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 20210511 Rel. 34580

Here is my setup

 

ISP provided Router >>Wired BackHaul to floor 1 deco (set as main deco)>>wired backhaul to ground floor Deco>>Wired Backhaul to top floor Deco

 

All decos show the correct signal source as ethernet and the previous hop,

 

1) However the top floor deco do not list any clients inside them. However if i try speedtest on a client that is near to this deco it will show the spike in download and upload speed in sync with speedtest.

 

2) Some of the devices which are on wireless connection are displayed as wired ones.

 

Steps tried so far

 

1) switching operation mode between wireless router and access point mode and ensuring issue occours in both modes

 

2) Removed and readded the floor 2 deco to the network

 

The LED of all decos are white steady

 

None of these helped.

 

ANy guidance would be really helpful

Just updating this thread with further details of the issue was working in floor one connected to main deco with my laptop and mobile, deco app shows both devices connected to floor 1 as wireless devices moved to floor 2 directly with both devices and now when checking deco app shows both the devices as wired and connected to deco on ground floor.

For the first issue that clients are not able to connect to the nearest Deco, please refer to this link:

As for the second issue, I would like to forward your case to the senior engineers, and could you please help me check the following information:

1. Can I have some pictures that mobile devices are recognized at wired clients?

2. Please go to Deco APP>Overview>three lines on the top>help>contact Us>suggestions and add the APP log.

I have uploaded the logs and the images just now after reproducing the issue.

 

To clarify first and second issue is 2 parts of the same issue, to put it simply. 

 

 Any device that goes near top floor deco changes its connection type to wired and is listed under ground floor deco. It switches back to wireless type when it goes near any other deco. Hope that clarifies.

Hi, the same issue here is the wireless clients showed the connection type is wired, right?

If yes, I see our senior engineer had helped you install some beta, and could you please also give her an update via # TKID210923276?

It would be highly appreciated if you could add some screenshots and the APP log to us as well.
