Good day, Tp link support team.

I have AX 20 router v1 and RE605X Extender v2.

Please add Onemesh ethernet backhaul options in firmware, because connections will be better.

Thanks in advance.

  @Solla-topee

Good morning!

AX6600 Archer AX90

AX1800 RE605X WifFi 6 range extender

I have the Archer Ax90 tri band WiFi 6 router, and I bought the RE605X so that I could use OneMesh with both devices on WiFi 6. When I configured it with OneMesh, I was a bit dissapointed with the throughput on the RE605X, so I decided to try wired backhaul instead. I was surprised to find out wired backhaul isn't an option given the Gigabit ethernet port and AP mode.

For now I've settled on using it at an Access Point with the Same SSID as my main router. It is working pretty well and it seems to hand off fine, but I am a bit dissapointed to miss out on all the mesh featurees. Please add wired back haul as an option!

  @Solla-topee

This would be great for me too.

I currently have the following OneMesh setup in my house, which I'm generally pleased with:

AX73

RE605X

Several PowerLine adapters, including TL-WPA8631P, in one total WiFi blackspot

The RE605X boosts the signal in my living room (router is upstairs, adjacent to cable modem), and gives me better performance in that room than connecting directly to the router.  However, if I run a long ethernet cable from the range extender to router and set it to AP mode, I get the same performance as I would get if I were next to the router, but of course I lose the benefits of OneMesh.  If I use the PowerLine extender, the performance is inferior to the range extender, so in that location it's not the solution to the problem.

I'll keep an expectant (hopeful) eye on any firmware updates in future...

Hi I just bough an Archer C6 AC1200 and a RE305(BR) V4 and would very much like ethernet backhaul support.

I'll hold onto this devices instead of returning them for now and test the wireless mesh connection but wired would no doubt work better.

I would really appreciate if the following devices get the Ethernet Backhaul feature.

  1. Archer C6
  2. RE305

I had bought all necessary LAN wire and done the wiring in my house and was really disappointed after all the hard work and expenditure when I identified that the OneMesh Feature is not available over Ethernet.

Really looking forward to TP-Link to make this feature on the above devices.

  @Solla-topee Please implement this feature, Its great to see you guys working on an ethernet backhaul for RE505x, please do...  I just bought it today with the assumption that it does support ethernet backhaul. Now sadly i had to put my RE505x as AP with same SSID that disrupts the seamless onemesh.

I'm using

1. 2x RE505x(AS)

  @Solla-topee

Thanks for the help Solla.

My setup is:

Range Extender

Hardware Version: RE200 V3.0

Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20210128 Rel. 60944

Router

Hardware Version: Archer AX21 V1.20

Firmware Version: 1.3.5 Build 20211231 rel. 63652

I hadan eth cable running from the router to range extender, bought the AX21 afterwards to have the OneMesh functionality (assuming eth backhaul).

Regards,

Currently, OneMesh Ethernet Backhaul feature is not available on the range extenders, but our team is evaluating if this feature is viable for the OneMesh-compatible range extenders and we appreciate your patience while our team evaluating this.

This was written In september last year.  How Long is the "evaluation" going trontale the team?

as can be seen on these posts many people need this feature.

  @Solla-topee I'd very much like this feature.

Current setup is Archer MR400 and RE315 range extenders.

Because of the location of the MR400 it's not really working for me and I have Ethernet cabling throughout the house that I'd like to utilise.
