Range Extenders Support OneMesh/EasyMesh in AP Mode
Hey everyone!
We got some feedback from our community users requesting for Range Extender to support OneMesh/EasyMesh when works as an Access Point.
Currently, OneMesh/EasyMesh is not supported when the extender is set to Access Point Mode. However it is planned to support EasyMesh over Ethernet Backhaul under Range Extender mode.
It will start with RE315_V1 and gradually be added to other EasyMesh-supported extenders.
EasyMesh Range Extenders Start Supporting Building a EasyMesh Network via Ethernet Backhaul
Note:
1. An extender needs to support EasyMesh (over Wi-Fi) first, then supports EasyMesh over Ethernet Backhaul.
2. Ethernet Backhaul only works when both your main router and satellite extender support EasyMesh over Ethernet Backhaul.
Other Mesh Options:
Option 1: Deco mesh system supports Ethernet backhaul under both Wireless Router and Access Point modes.

Hi, It would be great if you told us if this feature is not coming or not?
It's ok if its not coming, we can move on and find our own solutions :-) 18 months is long enough, you should know if this under development or not.
Thanks,
Dan

It's likely TP-Link will never support Ethernet Backhaul on OneMesh devices. That's fine, they have their reasons.
But TP-Link should at least clearly state in it's OneMesh product and promotional materials Ethernet Backhaul is not currently supported.
Today I'll be returning my just purchased TP-Link AXE5400 and TP-Link AC1900 devices. Notify me if Ethernet Backhaul on OneMesh ever gets supported, and I'll revisit purchasing appropriate TP-Link devices.
Thanks,
Deensba

It's been a very long time since this feature is "under evaluation". Can we have some updates on this topic?
I have TP-LINK ARCHER AX55 AX3000 and TP-Link RE705X. When I bought both devices I thought RE will work seamlessly using OneMesh and Ethernet Backhaul (because it's on the box "OneMesh compatible").
I'm still waiting and not sure if I should wait any longer or just go with another brand

TP-Link seriously needs to fix this.
Backstory. I had a wireless router (older) from another brand. But adding smart devices in our home overloaded it. So I purchased an Archer wireless router (AX1800). Having a USB port for shared storage was required and the TP-Link provided that. The product works for me, no issues, full home coverage. We added a shop on our propery and the router just didnt reach out there, its in a central location to our home. So I decided to get a TP Link extender (RE200) and it "sort of" works. The connection is very unreliable and slow. To fix this, I ordered a couple hundred feet of direct burial cat 6 and ran cabling between a switch I have in the garage and the shop and plugged the RE200 in. Well, doing so broke the entire network. After googling I found out that you cannot run the RE200, or any OneMesh product, with ethernet backhaul. WHY NOT? Never in a million years would I have imagined that would not be a feature.
I know TP-Link offers the Deco line, and admittedly Deco would do exactly what I am trying to do. But my home router works perfectly fine! Im not going to throw it out to go all Deco. That would be a huge waste! Im also not even sure I can do that because the Deco devices dont have USB ports to attach storage??? The simplest and most reliable option for me would be a simple firmware update to enable ethernet backhaul.
As much as my AX1800 has served me well, at this point I will never again by a TP-Link product unless this is addressed.

Nowhere in the marketing material or box does it say OneMesh only works via wifi. Bought the following thinking they could form a OneMesh network via Ethernet... all will now be returned as are not 'as advertised' !
1x TP-Link AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Router
2x TP-Link AC1200 Mesh Extenders
Sorry TP-Link... you had me as a customer, but have now lost one.
