I have one AX20 central router and two extenders, models RE505X and RE200.

All three work together in OneMesh to cover wifi6 in my house.I had no problems for almost one year now.

No firewall rules, parental, port forwarding, etc has been configured on the router.

Since i updated AX20 to firmware version 1.3.1 last week, I was having constant timeouts/wifi freezes many times per day.

After reboot i have no problem for maybe 1-2 hours, then the problem resumes.

I used "ping -t" to ping my extenders and noticed repeated timeouts every maybe 30 seconds.

Some packets get lost although i have strong wifi signal at all times and my pings are below 5ms.

Some days I even had packet loss on a LAN port with my desktop PC!

I managed to downgrade my firmware to version 1.3.0 and the problems went away.

I restored firmware 1.3.1 and the problem reappears in the first 15mins.

I think the firmware issue is verified, let me know if you need any more info.

also while measuring my web speed with my laptop over wifi with the 1.3.1 firmware it measured at about 10mbps and with the 1.3.0 firmware it measures 30mbps (from LAN the web test shows my actual connection speed at 86mbps).My 6 years old laptop cannot achieve high wifi speeds but still the firmware diff is more than clear. 3x times slower with the latest firmware!

Can you please verify if the wireless is not stable or the internet connection on the AX20 is not stable? How about the internet LED on the router when the timeouts happen?

 

Who is your ISP? 

 

When the timeouts happen, is the device connected to the AX20 wireless network directly or connected to the Onemesh extender's wifi?

the wireless is stable, the first extender is almost facing the router and the laptop is between the main router and the first extender with maximum signal even when the timeout occurs. I am facing the router from my desktop all day, all leds are on.AX20 is protected by UPS so no issues there as well.

When the "slowness" appears in my wifi network, it doen NOT go away until i reboot the router! I tested that for almost 8 hours straight working from my laptop with lags and freezes in any  web app, e.g. skype, teams. zoom, company vpn, etc. After rebooting the router the problem goes away for a couple of hours. After reverting to firmware 1.3.0 the problem "almost" disappears, but not 100%. It happened again 1-2 times during 2-3 days instead of all the time. But at least witn 1.3.0 the  wifi speed is at least 3x times faster.

ISP is Vodafone Greece

i am not sure where the laptop was connected (AX20 or extender).

It is usually connected to the extender 505x
