Hi,

 

I would like to ask what is the difference between these: TL-SG1008D vs LS1008G.

LS1008G is a newer model and it has more power saving.

and TL-SG1008D is an old model but It has QoS features. Is it necessary for a switch?


I am using the DECO M4 router and I also use the QoS feature to prioritize devices.

So, would it be better to buy LS1008G if the QoS feature is not required for a switch?

What kind of problems can I face if I buy a switch without QoS feature?

To be perfectly honest it wont matter which one you purchase, the bottleneck will be applied at the router (internet).

 

In short both these switches are unmanaged and have a throughput of 16gbps, its virtually impossible you would utilise this switch heavy enough to warrant any QOS on it.    The QOS on you internet is more than sufficient. 

 

Personally, I would choose the newer model as its likely to be a newer chipset / lower power draw
