Model: Archer C4000
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I have been using the C4000 for over a year now but suddenly this morning I have encountered the strangest issue.

Suddenly the WiFi signal is very very weak. If I am within 1 meter of the router I get "average" signal, if I am over 1m away this drops to poor, and if I am over 2m I get no signal at all! This is with direct line of sight to the router, tested with multiple wireless devices

Previously we have had flawless signal everywhere in the house, the router has not been moved nor has anything new been introduced into the room.

Wired connections still perform as normal and I get full gigabit speeds over the internet using wired.

It is like the wireless radios have lost all power, this impacts both 5ghz radios and the 2.4ghz radio.

I have tried smart mode and manually selecting channels. I am not competing for channels with other wifii networks and there is no general EM spectrum interference (I checked using my rtlsdr)

My ISP provided router still works fine so this is not a general WiFi issue.

I have factory reset the router and this made no difference. I have then unplugged it for several hours before trying it again which also made no difference. I have tried setting the radio power levels to low, medium and high again and I have tried each of the 3 radios individually.

The router says it is running the latest firmware.

Any suggestions on what to try next would be appreciated.
