Model: RE650
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.07 Build 20190521 Release 52591 (6985)

My Service Provider recently upgraded the Internet Router and it advertises only one network and there is no separate 2.4GHz/5GHz option. The TPLink Extender is not detecting the network as it keeps waiting for either 2.4GHz ot 5GHz. Any pointers on how to get it working again?

Also, where to source unzipped versions of the latest IOS?

Hello @Amit_T

Even though router has a combined 2.4GGhz and 5Ghz SSID, RE650 should be able to detect it,

  • please put RE closer to main router.
  • check the WiFi channel of main router: 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi on Channel 1-11, 5Ghz Wi-Fi channel 36/40/44/48

You may download Wi-Fi analyzer app and see if main router is on the supported channels.

If concern persists, may I know the model of router, can I have a photo of RE650 scanning Wi-Fi signals, Extender not detect 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz?

Could other devices see the SSID from main routerr?
