New UI range extender only asks for a login password, which is the local login account created by users when they first time login TP-Link web page or Tether app.
If you do not remember the login password, please factory reset extender and install it from scratch:
RESET: With the extender powered on, use a pin to press the RESET button until most LEDs flash once.

How to configure Range Extender via Tether APP
After factory reset, it will let you create a new login password:
