Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555)
I have set the 5GHz bands channel width to 40MHz so that i get better bandwidth in my bedroom. On 80Mhz channel I get just 35mbps bandwidth in my bedroom.

Every time i reboot(or switch off and switch on) the router, the channel width on 5GHz band gets reset to 80MHz( I checked on WiFi analyzer app on Android and the link speed also increased from 185mbps to 375mbps) but in the router Management page it shows that my channel width is 40MHz which is wrong.

This is issue is also triggered when I disable and then re-enable the Wireless 5Ghz transmission(from Router managment web page), the channel width will reset from 40MHz/20MHz to 80MHz but in Router management page in the selection box it will still show 40Mhz as channel width.

Please fix this.

When i set the channel width to 40Hz and restart the router/ Power On-Off/Disable the 5Ghz radio by unchecking the selection box, the routers channel width is set to 80MHz(checked on 3 mobile phones/Laptop) but on the Router management web page the settings value will display 40MHz.

Thank you for getting back @FlatPepsi.

Can you please try installing the beta firmware we provided here, then monitor again? I believe your router is an EU version, so you can try the beta firmware we provided there.

@FlatPepsi

Hello, will the speed and bandwidth differ a lot when the 5GHz channel width is on Auto, 80MHz or 40MHz? Can we have more details? Except for the channel width is different, are there any other changes you can be aware of when the speed changes? What if you just leave the channel width Auto, is the 5GHz speed not good?

What is the device you are testing for the 5GHz speed? You can also try with another device by connecting to the 5GHz network to see if that also happens the same.

  @Kevin_Z I had the same issue earlier, see here: Archer C6 v2 Wi-Fi 5 GHz channel width issue - Home Network Community (tp-link.com)

However this seems to work now properly with the latest beta firmware. BTW is it planned to release that firmware as non-beta any time?

Hello @BPeter, thank you very much for reminding me of your post which I haven't been aware of, sorry for that. But it's glad to hear that the issue was resolved by installing beta firmware on the router. Can I confirm which beta firmware did you install? Is it the one we provided here?

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/271574

As confirmed with the development team, there is a plan to release an official version for Archer C6(EU) 2.0 in the future, but we cannot provide you an ETA now, so please keep an eye on the router web GUI or Tether app for the updates. We will also update the above thread to inform you.
