Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V15
Firmware Version: 1.4.3

Hello everyone,

Ever since I installed 3 deco M4s (one set as main and 2 slaves) I've experienced a cap on my maximum speed. When I connect directly to my ISP router I receive a steady 400mbps in and out, but as soon as the signal passes through the first deco it drops down to under 100mbps. I'm using CAT6 cables to connect the main deco to one of the slaves, and that slave to my main computer, yet the signal is still capped at 100. I've also tried a few fixes I found on other threads, such as:

• Increasing the QoS (currently at 1000 both ways)

• Checking the "Clone Mac Address" box

• Updating all firmware

Finally, I have been doing everything through the deco app with all 3 M4s plugged in.

Is there anything else I could be doing to solve this issue? If there's something I haven't tried, please let me know!

@AFBauer

Hi, there are some suggestions for you:

1. please change a different Deco as the main Deco to have a look.

How to Setup the Satellite Deco to be the Main Deco?

2. I see there is a new firmware available and Please also try to update to the latest firmware:

Deco M4_V2_1.5.2_20210916

If still not working, please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following information:

1. the TP-Link email ID for the Deco APP and the MAC address of your main Deco.

2. who is your internet service provider and what is the model number of the ISP modem?

Thank you very much.

@AFBauer

Please also check that you have Deco M4, not Deco E4. They look alike, but E4 has 100Mbps Ethernet ports. If you have Deco E4, that would explain speeds you are getting when connecting through it.

Here is M4 vs. E4 comparison: https://www.tp-link.com/my/compare/?typeId=5700&productIds=35792%2C35804%2C48592
