Model: TL-WA850RE
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: TL-WA850RE(BR)_V4_180409

I have an issue with my range extender in which there are various devices already connected, but at some point I can't connect another one. May be my smartphone, or my PC or even my TV.

Example:

There are around 5 smartphones, 1 PC and 1 TV connected, and then I try to connect a 2nd TV and it simply doesn't connect, saying it wasn't possible to.

or

There are 4 smartphones, 1 PC and 2 TVs connected, and then I try to connect a 5th smartphone and it simply doesn't connect.

Then I remove the range extender from the wall outlet, reconnect it and everything works just fine. It happens constantly, and I can't relate any specific situation in which this may occur, seems almost like random.

This RE is connected through cable on a bridge connection with a router downstairs, which then is connected to the modem. When I had the RE connected through wifi to the router downstairs, it was even less reliable, so I'd like to keep this configuration.

Between devices that I can and can't connect, seems like I can never connect more than 8, according to what the RE config page tells me. Is there any limitation of devices that I'm not aware?

Could someone help me to understand or troubleshoot why I have these connection issues?

Thanks =)

Hello @Spielwurfel

Thank you for your detailed post, while checking the internal spec of RE:

TL-WA850RE V3-V6 support maximum Wi-Fi clients is 8, V7 supports Wi-Fi clients up to 12 .

If you have more Wi-Fi clients to connect, you could consider a dual-band extender, some can handle 16 or 32 Wi-Fi clients like RE450 V2 support 16 on each WiFi band.  Let me know if you are interested in any dual-band model. Hope this helps.
