Model: TL-WR1043ND
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.16.9 Build 150514 Rel.72381n

Hello to everyone,

I have a TL-WR1043ND ( 3.16.9 Build 150514 Rel.72381n ) router and I already had connected and working a Canon MG5600 Series MFP. The MFP is connected at the USB port of the router. The PC that is from the LAN side of this router uses the printer via the TP-LINK USB Printer controller software. I use the TL-WR1043ND as a secondary router inside my network, thus a different subnet is used at the LAN after the TL-WR1043ND an a different subnet is at the WAN side. At the WAN side now there is a main ADSL MODEM/ROUTER TD-W8960N that provides with internet connection the whole network. Also some PCs (and other devices) are connected at the LAN of the main router and this cannot be undone. So what is the challenge now, the PCs that are from the WAN side of the WR1043ND (which is the TD-W8960N LAN) cannot see the printer. Does anyone knows how to resolve this problem, please? Thank you in advance.

@Infotech

Is there any particular reason to have the TL-WR1043ND set as a secondary router in your LAN ?

If you set it in AP mode (Case 2) all devices will be within the same subnet, thus avoiding double NAT issues in communication betweeen them.

If you decide to re-configure TL-WR1043ND read this solution as well to avoid potential USB Printer Controller issues.

If this was helpful click once on the arrow pointing upward. If this solves your issue, click once the star to mark it as a "Recommended Solution".
