Model: Archer C80
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.10.0 Build 210716 Rel.51301n(4555)

Hello,

I got a very strange problem with my wireless connections. The problem started when I activated the 2.4GHz Wifi connection beside the 5Ghz one. If my laptop goes in sleeping mode being connected to 5Ghz Wifi after 10 minutes the laptop cannot connect anymore to that Wifi again ...it shows "It cannot connect to that network" error message..I have to disable the 2Ghz Wireless via Tether app on my Ipad..so that my Win10 laptop can connect again to that 5Ghz wifi..the other four wifi devices connected to 5GHz Wifi are working fine at the same time so there is no disconnect!..the problem comes up if the lease expires or the device is going offline for more than 10-15 minutes..then the device cannot connect again to the 5Ghz Wifi network..unless the 2.4Ghz Wifi is disabled or I reboot the router..

I got my Archer in router mode connected(PPPoE) to an optical converter being in bridge mode (Huawei) . Strange that It worked fine until I activated the 2.4Ghz Wifi (without Smart Connect) for my new webcam...I got the issue less often now using permanent leases but with a normal lease it came up every time at lease expiration!

my DHCP settings:

Hello @ccadar, thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to the TP-Link community.

Can I have the brand and model of the Windows 10 laptop? What is the model of the wireless card on it? Please be sure the driver of the adapter has been updated to the latest version.

BTW, does it encounter the same issue when it connects to any other 5GHz network?

Hello  @Kevin_Z ,

My laptop is a Swift SF514-51, the Wifi device ( Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter) firmware is up to date, I used the router for 3 months without any problems with the 5Ghz Wifi alone...problems started when I enabled the 2Ghz Wifi as well.. and never had any issues with my previous router (netgear) before:

To simulate the issue I gave 4 times an "ipconfig /release" command and for the fourth time the issue happened again! I could not connect back to the 5Ghz nor 2Ghz Wifi network with the laptop. My Iphone worked fine at the same time over the 5Gz Wifi but when I disabled its Wifi it could not reconnect back either! it seems that from that point on the router went into "zombie" modus,,. as a workaround I disabled the 2Ghz Wifi and then the laptop and Iphone got reconnected back to the 5Ghz Wifi alone..

See the Router logs below..with NOK is when the problem occured:

Strange that my laptop sends its hostname to the router.. but the router cannot read it...that appeared as "Unknown" name here :

Please find attached the tcpdump from wireshark tool when I released and reconnected the laptop to Wifi. I hope it helps....

Thanks

  @Kevin_Z

Hello,

They contacted me indeed and gave me a new firmware(the beta firmware for Archer C80) to try it out..unfortunately the beta still contained this bug but they have not replied me (TKID220217770) to that..

...is there still any hope to fix this issue?

thanks
