Deco compatibility including Backhaul with cisco 250 48 10/100 smart switch

Hi all

I have a cisco 250 48 10/100 smart switch. I've had it 3 years and I purely plugged the unit in and have never altered any configuration .

would this switch work  ok if it was hardwired direct from a Deco x 20 / x60 etc ? And the switch then fed all other decos around the property ?

I've no idea of the firmware as I've never touched the unit or whether this would need to be changed to work with he Decos?

@Thackers I haven't heard any feedback about this model-Cisco SF250-48 yet and I did see some feedback about Cisco SG220-26 and Cisco 4948-10G that failed to build the Ethernet backhaul. Nomrally IEEE 1905.1 protocol is required for the Ethernet backhaul but not all the users manual of switch have this information included so it is hard to give you an exact answer.

For more details about Ethernet backhaul, please refer to this link:

Thanks  @David-TP

am I correct in thinking if I run in AP mode then because all decos are hardwired after the cisco network switch Backhaul should work fine even if the protocol you mentioned isn't available on the cisco switch ?
