Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.11 Build 20210730 rel.54485(4555)

I recently bought an Archer AX50 and I have some problems with my wifi range so I decided to buy a RE305 wifi extender.

The problem is that devices connected to RE305 change their MAC Address and I can not identify each one in the router so I can not apply parental controls.

I am wondering if with a PLC KIT I will have the same problem or PLC kits will respect mac addresses so I can control all devices connected to the network in my archer AX50.

The PLC I am looking are TP-Link TL-WPA4220 KIT or TP-Link TL-WPA8630P

The objective is being able to control all devices connected to the network directly to the router or through extenders, with parental controls.

Thank you

As I can confirm, the powerline extenders do not have the virtual MAC address issue you found on the range extender. When a device is connected to the network via the powerline extender, it will still display its real MAC address. But please be aware the Private MAC Address or MAC randomization has been disabled on the client device, check this article below:

Why don’t features like Parental Controls/QoS/Blocked Devices work on my device?
