Hi Guys,

Here's a quick one:

1. I remember reading somewhere online that in a mesh network, the units (main router and satellite) communicate with each other on the 5GHz channel and all connected clients on the network use the 2.4GHz.

Is that true or am I imagining this?

2. Assuming the above is true, theoretically an old Apple Basestation that only supports 802.11 b/g would have no problems running, would it? There would not be an problem with speed that could cause breaks in its operations, would it?

Sincerely, Andrew

  @YanAndrew

Hi, for Deco M5, Both 2.4ghz and 5ghz would be used as wireless mesh backhaul between Deco units.

And it would also broadcast 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless radios for mobile clients.

Apple Basestation would still work with Deco.
