Hi all. Since about a week ago, my Archer C7 v2 keeps resetting to factory defaults and I have to set it up again with all settings which I now have saved for easier maintenance. But it happened twice in less than a week, and I'm not sure if there is something to be done to fix this or it just means it's about to die and I should think of a replacement. The router is about 5 years old. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello @Edisonmk, thank you for asking the community.

 

Archer C7 v2 is quite old hardware and it's good to know it works fine for more than 5 years. Is it a US or EU version? You can check if there is a newer firmware for that hardware from the local website:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/archer-c7/v2/#Firmware

 

Install the most recent firmware and reset then reconfigure it to check if it will work properly.

 

If still no help, I'm afraid it's time to buy a new one. Below are the models you can choose:
