Hey all, I hope somebody can help me:

I bought a new Samsung Galaxy A53 5G yesterday. Never had any issues with my wifi with any of my appliances. However, for the Samsung the Wifi seems to work like a few minutes, and then suddenly it can't connect to the wifi anymore (whilst other appliances such as my work mobile phone and my laptop seem to have no issues connecting to the wifi).

I tried reconnecting to the wifi with my Samsung multiple times, tried resetting my Deco X60 (3-pack), tried factory-resetting my Samsung, tried rebooting my Samsung. Nothing solves the issue. It connects every once in a while, but then stops connecting withing a few minutes....

Software of both my Samsung (Android 12) and my Deco X60 (1.5.1) is up-to-date.

I have read on a forum that somebody had this exact same issue, same phone and same Deco X60 system. He said he had his issues solved by running an adjusted Deco X60 firmware. Now, I am beginner when it comes to tech.....anybody who can help me solve my wifi issue?

Thanks in advance! Any help is much appreciated!!

With kind regards,

Peter

  @PeterVo

Hi, Nice to see you again, and welcome to the community.

I see you also followed the other post about A53 5G.

When you are available, could you please help me run the following test:

Before the test, please turn off "Mesh Technology" on the A53; then disable "fast roaming" and "beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

Then,

1. please enable the guest network for 2.4ghz only and test the network stability of A53;

2. turn on the 5ghz only and disable 2.4ghz this time on the guest; forget this network on A53 and connect it again, and test the stability again for some time.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and wait for your update.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Dear David,

Thank you for your quick response and explanation. Sorry for my delayed answer.

I currently have my guest network on 2.4 GHz (5 GHz disabled). Regular or main network I have 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz enabled. Fast roaming and beamforming disabled, as you advised.

Wifi seems to work good now on my A53, connected to the guest network! Sometimes a bit of a delay, but 95% of the time it works great. Thank you for the advice.

Hopefully Tp-Link can sort out the issue, so that A53-users can benefit fully from the great internet provided by the X60 :-)

With kind regards,

Peter

  @David-TP

Hi,

Through the forum topic (https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/546618?page=2) I came across this thread. Changed the settings as mentioned. It seems to work, but like others I hope for a final solution soon.

Kind regards,

Abel

  @David-TP Ive tried as you have said setting up a Guest network and set to 5ghz after forgetting network and reconnecting but still only getting 6Mbps network speed. Is ther any latest updates to sort this issue out at all?

  @PeterVo

I have the exact same issue (A53). When I alway down the hall (10 feet away behind wall) my phone loses instant connection...

On the flip side:

-my work phone (iphone) and wifes phone (samsung galaxy 6) no issues

-3 laptops working perfectly fine
