Does anybody know why the MR600v1 doesn't support band selection, while v2 does? Are they hardware wise so much different?

I just don't understand why it wasn't included in the later official version.

Thank you. Yes, I know, but that version doesn't get security updates. It is discouraged to use such an old version with known and published security issues.
