Model: Archer A9
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

Our AC1900 loses connectivity seemingly on random. Installed factory firmware worked well. Never had a problem. Issue started with upgraded firmware.

Problem occurs using 2 different internet providers at 2 different locations.  To restore a connection, I must power off, then on.

1 - Purchased summer 2020.  Worked well until a few months after firmware update, sometime in fall 2021.

History - Location #1

2 - Randomly started to drop connection (Internet light turns orange).

3 - ISP confirms no problem on their end.

4 - When plugged into a different outlet, the problem mostly went away.

5 - Replaced the outlet at the original location.  Problem mostly stayed away, but then came back.

6 - At one point, did a factory reset, but noticed that the firmware version remained 1.1.1.

History - Location #2

7 - Never had a problem at this location and this (different) ISP before.  Previous summers.

8 - Same problem still occurs.  Yesterday the connection dropped > 10 times, certainly a record.

9 - Today connection dropped only 2 times, both in the morning.  Worked well the rest of the day.

All my devices are connected over WiFi.

Thanks!

  @mattsh1   <== Responding to myself

UPDATE:  More unusual behavior.  A day or two after my original post, the router went back to normal, expected behavior.  Everything worked as one would expect it to work.  The only possible difference (maybe) was I made sure the router had fully booted before turning on my computer (Mac M1).

But a few days ago, the router resumed dropping connections multiple times a day.  No clue as to why.

Maybe this time around, I'll actually get a response?  One can hope...

Hello @mattsh1

If the internet connection becomes stable now, I would suggest monitoring the connectivity for some time, you may report back if the issue gets back.
