2xAV600 and 1xAV1000 - only one extender working at a time
Hi,
I currently have:
- 1 AV600 TL-PA4010 connected into the router and plugged in downstairs)
- 1 AV600 TL-WPA4220 (extender) connected into a plug socket upstairs and providing ethernet to my PC
Both of these units are working fine.
My partner just purchased the AV1000 Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit (Contains 2 TL-PA717 powerline adapters) but we cannot get either of the new units to further extend the network provided by the AV600 pair.
- We tried simply plugging a new AV1000 PA717 into another upstairs socket, but we had nothing but a flashing power LED
- We then tried pairing (press the pair button on downstairs AV600 TL-PA4010 for 1 second, place the AV1000 PA717 in a nearby socket and press the pair button then wait). This didn't work either
- I then tried the following
- Unplugged the upstairs AV600 TL-WPA4220
- Plugged in the AV1000 PA717
- The AV1000 PA717 worked (power and powerline LEDs both green)
- Plugged the AV600 TL-WPA4220 back in
- The AV600 TL-WPA4220 stopped working (no powerline LED)
- When trying to connect to the network, a new password was being requested (no passwords were provided in the box, or as stickers on the units like with previous models)
In summary, I was hoping that we could plug in an AV1000, and the 2 AV600s + AV1000 would simply work all together.
Could someone please offer some guidance? I'd prefer not to return all my tp-link units and have to search for another reliable wi-fi extension provider :D.
Love Zakky x
