If TL-WA850RE failed to reconnect to Wi-Fi router, i'd suggest verifying the Wi-Fi password of router that you have put in first, then factory reset extender and reconfigure it.

If still the same, can I know how about the led status on the extender, and what's the model of router? You could also troubleshoot as instruction below:
