Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.5 Build 20220823 Rel. 41353

I am having trouble with 1 of my mesh. My set up is just 2 mesh in a 90sqm house with 2nd floor.

The one having trouble is the one I placed in our stairs.

Facts:

  • The location of mesh in the stairs have a full bar 5G signal
  • It's outputting only 2.4G
  • Very slow connection and constantly disconnecting

I did troubleshoot and here are the steps:

  1. Reset both mesh
  2. Connect the Stairs mesh (problematic) directly to internet via the provided cable
  3. Test network connection: 9.27 Mbps
  4. Remove the Stairs mesh and tried the other one. Connect the other mesh directly to internet via the provided cable
  5. Test network connection: 200.62 Mbps.

  @cian

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

When I checked your TP-Link ID, I see the main Deco is on 1.5.5 and the satellite M4 is on 1.1.9 Build 20200119 Rel. 75362. Based on the previous feedback, it is a local ISP-customized firmware for PLDT. So did you get these 2 units separately, one bought by yourself and the other provided by ISP directly?

Are you able to replace the Deco M4-1.1.9 the customized version with a general version?

As for the issue mentioned here:

Facts:

  • The location of mesh in the stairs has a full bar 5G signal
  • It's outputting only 2.4G
  • Very slow connection and constantly disconnecting

Were you trying to say the upstairs satellite M4 is only broadcasting 2.4ghz?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.
