Help with Archer-MR200 V2 4G signal reception
Hello all,
First of all thanks for accepting me in this forum. I appreciate all the help from you all.
I have a 3G/4G router TP-Link Archer-MR200 V2 for portable Vodafone internet in Portugal, the 4G signal is always oscillating from maximum to no signal.
I only have a stable signal when i lock the 3G signal reception.
The technical support from Vodafone informed me that this is because I live in an rural zone and my house is exactly between two signal towers that are around 1Km from me.
Is this router a MIMO - Multiple Input and Multiple Output? This could be the cause for my signal not being stable?
Can I use a directional external antenna on this modem? What antenna do you advise me to buy?
Thank you all for your help,
Regards,
Carlos Oliveira

Hello,
I´ve bought this antenna, let´s see how it works.
LTE MIMO Antenna: TRANS-DATA LTE KPZ 8/8
Thanks for the help

I hope it works ok, usually these types of Panel Antennas have less gain over a LPDA & a lot more cable loss.

Hello,
I've already tested it and it's giving a gain of 7.5dbi.
The signal increased from 14Mbps to 32MBps, and is now stable in 4G.
Thank for all your support.
Best regards

One last doubt if you don't mind.
Does it make any difference the way i connect the vertical and horizontal antennas to the router?
I've tried both ways and seems the same result.
Thanks and have a good Sunday

So are these antennas mounted Vert & Horiz & not @ 45 deg as they should be for 2X2 MIMO.
The top antenna should be connected to the AUX.

How did you work out the gain figure of 7.5dBi, as 5mts of RG58 coax used on these panel type antennas @ say 900Mhz is about 2.7dB of loss, (3dB is 1/2 your signal gone)
Now you can see why you have to use LMR400 coax (or a similar low loss coax) which would only have a loss of about 0.6dB instead of 2.7dB. This is dB not dBi.
