Model: Deco X20-4G
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Just wondering if/when this advertised feature will be arriving for the X20 range? Or has it been canned?

The graphic for it seems to have disappeared but there is still a reference at the bottom of this page for a 2022 release:

I bought an X20-DSL and X20-4G hoping to have a seamless transtition from DSL to 4G.

  @Captain_Darling

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

I have consulted the related teams and there hasn't been an updated plan about this feature yet. We have removed the advertising information to avoid further confusion.

Currently, in a Mesh Network including Deco X20-DSL and Deco X20-4G, you could consider manually changing the main Deco to Deco X20-4G when DSL service went down but the failover might not happen automatically/seamlessly.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Is there any news on this?

Bottom of X20-4G still states "Deco Mesh Hybrid Gateway System will be enabled in 2022."

Deco X20-4G | 4G+ AX1800 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 Gateway | TP-Link Australia

Would be a useful feature as I would like to place my 4G backup deco in a location that receives stronger 4G signal and use different Deco as the main unit (center of house).

Regards,
Tom

  @Tommo53 I think they've quietly shelved the function. I ended up returning my X20-4G and bought a regular (and cheaper) X20 instead.
