Just after Deco App 3.0 and Kasa App 3.0, now TP-Link is releasing its new Tether App, which version is 3.8.18 for iOS and 3.8.6 for Android. By the time an update becomes available to our customers, the new Tether App has already gone through an extensive testing process which includes the functionality of the new app to get acquainted with the new features and to test the overall stability of the app. 

 

We recommend that everyone update their application from either the App Store or the Google Play Store to take advantage of the new features as soon as possible.

 

* This release is a rolling update, so everyone will get it in the coming days.

New UI Enhancements:

 

Parental Controls

 

Setting up HomeShield > Parental Controls now requires navigating to Family tab from the bottom menus, you can create your family profiles, add devices to each of them, and set time controls just like before.

 

 

Real-Time Protection*

 

You can now go to Security tab directly to scan for the network security, check and monitor the malicious websites that get blocked, monitor how external attacks get blocked by Intrusion Prevention, etc.

Weekly Report

QoS

Network Performance Optimization

The Weekly Report, QoS, Network Performance Optimization, as well as more functionality options now are moved into Tools. The configuration and setting options are the same as those before the update.

 

 

This latest release also includes some other enhancements and bug fixes. Be sure to update your TP-Link router or extender to the latest version with the Tether app in order to explore all the great features or enhancements.
