VX220-G2v wifi 5Ghz buggy 80Mhz bandwith, channels and dhcp
Hello eveyone,
i recently got a tplink VX220-G2v from my ISP.
It's NOT 'modified' or a specific model of my ISP, it's genuine and brand new tplink product just pre-loaded with the isp values.
Since the beginning i'm having issues with the 5Ghz band.
I'm not living in a crowded wifi ap's area, just a couple other then me.
At first no devices i own were able to list that band.
Can't say what exactly got it working but i tried and had to disable some features like qos, bandsteering, airfairness etc... (nothing i actually really need).
also set a different ssid name for 2.4/5ghz and set a specific channel and bandwidth for both. (avoiding continuos channels shifts and other stuff)
Now every devices are connected correctly and seems to work correctly EXCEPT my phone, and a friend's phone.
(dhcp problem)
A xiaomi 9T and another xiaomi i forgot the model.
These two after a couple of days won't connect to the 5Ghz, they get stuck in the loop of getting the ip address.
It cycle beteween list the 5ghz band, start the connection, get the ip addess then stop and start again.
It wont work for few days (but 2.4 always work) then it works again for just a couple of days again and so on.
OR i have to restart the router to get it working straight away, but it's really annoying.
they are the only 2 devices with that specific problem, i own other xiaomi devices, and different brands and they work smoothly.
(channels/bandwidth problem)
anyway i see listed only few channels, 36 40 44 48
but if i want to use 40Mhz or 80Mhz bandwidth there should be also 38-46, 42? am I wrong?
anyway, as soon as I select 80Mhz everything stop working.
Laptop can't connect to the 5Ghz band, my phone can't, my tablet can't, anopther phone can't, the chromecast can't....
they don't even list the ssid anymore.
Except few times my laptop connects to it but only if i'm a few inches from the router and even that, the speed is super low, the latency is like 400ms to 2seconds.
No matter the channel i select.
Back to 40Mhz it works perfectly.
once again, it's not a crowded area here.
any suggestion?
Thanks
