May I know the model number of your range extender? And when you hold the reset pinhole for 10s, would there be any response on the extender?

Hi, I am a little confused about your current issue.
The tether APP is mainly used to manage the range extender and it is not required when connecting the smartphone to the extender.
You might just need to find the WiFi name in the phone settings and input the password for it.
