@digitalpr I 100% AGREE
the fact that anyone can pick up my phone, open an app that doesn't even integrate simple security like Face ID and see AND MODIFY my wifi settings angers me, especially because of how much these things cost to begin with.
You people are integrating 2FA into your other apps, HOW ABOUT INTEGRATING IT INTO THE ONE THAT CONTROLS THE NETWORK TOO.
if it's not integrated within 2 weeks, they go in the trash.

@mirdragon man, atleast a white list. What gets to me is that TP LINK already HAS 2FA built into their other router apps. The catch: the routers cost $300+

@TP-Link there is literally a post from 2021 confirming you were going to do this! Please please please fix it already. You can't have cloud based access without MFA. It makes you look kind of silly. We need dates by when this will be implemented please?

I just received a few Deco x50s from my ISP. At first I was eager to try these out. Then the minuses started adding up..
No VPN Server in the ISP version (why?) (seriously, why?)
No meaningful firewall (seriosuly, all you can do is block an IP address)
Both 2.4 and 5k SSIDs are locked to being the same name (Why??)
No routing control and very basic NAT
Very basic DHCP server
So.. I figured I would tackle the first item and spun up a VPN on a Raspberry PI. Shut off my cell's WIFI, connected to my VPN and tested I could configure my Decos and reach a few internal services. Disconnected from my VPN, WTH?.. I could still configure my Decos
Oh :/ The sad tuba was loud at my realization.
Cloud router config and no MFA. very lame TP Link, very lame.
Yeah, and no firewall means I can't block the Deco from ..
Yeah, going to put my old router back into service, and may use the Decos as WIFI access points only and use my real firewall to block Deco -> Public.
Oh but wait.. even as access points they suck because I can't have different SSIDs for the two bands.

MFA / 2FA is desperately needed as the current system is insecure, TP-Link has fallen well behind the competition. I am in a position where I have to replace the router becuase the TP-Link Deco X20 cannot meet the requiremeents for Cyber Essentials.
