Hi

Just purchased the AX73 and so far very pleased but I do have one question, I would like to reserve the IP range from 200 to 254 so I can use them and reserve them for clients on the network and have the router asign any IP below 200 (102-200) for automatic asigning of any other devices/clients on the network, is this possible and if so how do I do it ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Look for a menu that is similar to what is shown on the screenshot below. There you can define the address pool the router uses for automatic assignment of IP addresses to the client devices.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, I did do exactly that and set it to 102 to 199 but then when I tried to reserve a IP address above 200 for one of the devices on my network it wouldn't allow it saying it needs to be in the DHCP IP range.

If that's the case, then I am afraid there is nothing you can do about it. It's the way the AX73's firmware has been designed.

There are router models that allow reserving IP addresses outside of the DHCP address pool and there are router models that don't. (and it's not just a matter of different manufacturers doing it differently, even within TP-Link it's not consistent)

So you will need to expand the DHCP IP Address Pool to cover the addresses you want to assign via Address Reservation.

Thanks, yeah that's what I have done, a little annoying as my previous Netgear allowed it but I can live with it.

Cheers
