Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 20210121 Rel. 54794

A previously connect Canon TS6300 printer is having issues connecting to the Deco X20 Wi-Fi network.

During it's connection process, two very similar MAC addresses are visible to the Printer, but they are not the MAC addresses of my devices - by a matter of 1 digit.
e.g. actual 3C-84-6A-36-1E-28, printer see's 3C-84-6A-36-1E-2A
and
acutal 3C-84-6A-36-1E-94, printer see's 3C-84-6A-36-1E-90.

Additionally, during an alternative connection process, the Printer displays two instances of the Wi-Fi network with the same name.

This printer has been factory reset, and 3 different connection methods have failed. It simply times out with an error. I have posted an issue to Canon also, but wanted to see if the TP-Link community had any suggestions.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Do you mean when you were selecting the available WiFi network for the Canon printer, they are two networks with the same SSID name, but different MAC addresses, right?

I think they are the 2.4 GHz networks from different Deco units. The MAC address here is the WAN Wi-Fi address which is based on the LAN MAC(LAN MAC address +1 in hexadecimal).

And you could refer to the following suggestion to see whether it helped connect the printer to Deco:

1. Make sure the wireless security mode is on WPA2/AES, not WPA3 since the printer might not support WPA3.

2. Temporarily turn off 5ghz.

3. Turn off "Fast Roaming" and "Beamforming" on the Deco APP>More>Advanced.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
