Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 build20210204 rel 50164

My new samsung A53 phone keeps dropping from the wifisignal from my deco. With all the other devices (other samsung phones,  IPhone,  laptops etc) I have no such problems. On other networks I don't have this issue of losing connection. On a Samsung members forum I saw that the problem can orrur due to the firmware version of the deco, and can be solved by new firmware. Is it possible to have an update/ upgrade in firmware?

  @Nicolesch

Hi, this issue is not related to the firmware upgrade of Deco X60, more related to the software of Samsung A53 itself.

From the forum post here:

https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-a-series/samsung-galaxy-a53-can-t-connect-to-mesh-wifi-tp-link-deco-x60/td-p/5984388/page/2

I am quite confident that Deco X60 is not the problem.

Have you tried to update to the latest software version of A53?

Best regards

.

@Nicolesch In wifi settings of the phone, select "use phone MAC" instead of "use randomized MAC"

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

Hi  @David-TP

I have a similar issue, also Deco X60, but with Samsung S20 and S21.

Older Samsung devices and other Wi-Fi devices do not have the issue.

My issue is like the original posters, that the Wi-Fi intermittently drops and after a short while returns.

Best regards

Thomas

  @Nicolesch

Since December 2022 I have had the same problem with a Huawei P20 Lite (worked good for months). Since this is an older device, I bought a new one: Samsung Galaxy A53. Good device but after setting up the same problem: unstable WiFi! The Samsung A53 has the latest update.

After a few days of searching, thanks to this forum, I found that it is a problem with the DECO x60 that I installed in March 2022 (4 pieces).
All software is up to date, all connections reset.

WIFI only works in 2.4 Ghz mode.

In the house there is another Samsung A50, OnePlus Nord 2 5G , Samsung Galaxy Tab7, ... all working on 5 Ghz without a problem.

Maybe the problem started after a firmware update in December?

Deco x60 Firmware

3x 1.5.1 build 20210204 Rel. 50164 (main deco)
1 x 1.0.15 build 20221111 Rel. 77798 (this one doesn't update?)

  @David-TP

If it was related to the sofware of my A53, then it should give problems on all networks. Since it works on all other networks i've tried, that isn't the source of the problems. I read on one of the forums that it is a known problem with newer phones in combination with Deco.

  @FilipB

WIFI works in 2.4GHz mode, but is not as fast as original signal, nor as fast as other devices on 5GHz on same network

  @David-TP

When the Samsung unit works perfectly on other wi-fi networks, the issue seems to be related to the combination of tp-link and samsung, who has the error remains unknown, but what is known, is that tp-link is a no-go for samsung users and wise-versa.
