ER7206 Gateway disconnected from Omada, can't reconnect

Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 5.8.4

My router disconnected this morning from Omada controller, and I haven't been able to make it reconnect. I have power cycled all devices and still not able to get it to connect. Is there a way to troubleshoot why it's not connecting? Internet is working, and I think both wlans are active, but I have no way to check.

Omada Software Controller version: 5.8.4 (inside docker container)

Model:

TL-ER7206 v1.0
Firmware Version :
1.2.3 Build 20221104 Rel.41500
Main Gateway: TL-ER7206 Switch: TL-SG3428 APs: EAP620 HD x2

  @Unraider

These seems to a be known and increasingly common bug in this firmware.  Please revert to previous router firmware which is 1.2.1 I believe.

  @d0ugmac1 has this been confirmed elsewhere? Also, I guess I need to figure out a way to revert the firmware outside of the Omada controller if so.

  @Unraider

I'll find you some recent posts, but for now, you can download the posted previous firmware from the TPLink support site, and then use the Omada->Device->Config->Manage->Custom Upgrade and then browse to the previous version of firmware (which you have already unzip'd).

Alternatively, 'Forget' the router which will factory default it...but that's more pain than should be necessary.

  @d0ugmac1 thanks, but I can't use the Omada controller to update the firmware because it is disconnected. I need to find a manual procedure.

Ok, then use Reset button (pinhole) and physically factory default the ER7206.  You can then re-adopt and downgrade the firmware.

Dear @Unraider,

Please allow me to confirm the information below.

1. How many Omada devices are managed by your Omada Controller?

2. Do you mean that only the Router was disconnected from your Omada Controller?

3. Did you change anything (like adding Schedule, ACLs...) before the router became disconnected?

4. Is it the first time to suffer from such disconnect issue, or how often would the issue happen?

  @Fae

1. 4 Devices, a router, a switch, and 2 EAP (see models in signature)

2. yes, only the router appears disconnected, all the other devices are connected and in sync

3. No, other than regular updates to the Omada Software Controller, I have not changed any setting in the recent past

4. This is the first time any of the devices appear as disconnected.

  @Unraider

I've also updated my Omada Controller Software to v5.9.31 recently on the PC, and also having the same disconnected issue. I have 1 router: ER7206 v1.0 (firmware 1.2.0) and 1 switch TL-SG2428P v4.0 (firmware 4.0.1), both of these hardware haven't been changed in configuration and firmware updates for the past year. From the above situation, I guess this is a bug when upgrading the Omada Controller Software, though still need confirmation from TP-Link, let us know when you received the solution from them!

Hello @Brian-C,

May I know what version your controller was before upgrading to controller v5.9.31?

Only ER7206 router stuck in disconnected state? Or is the switch stuck in disconnected state as well?

If only ER7206 router encountered the disconnected issue, and it's still in disconnected state now, please check whether you can access the standalone web UI of the ER7206 via its IP address, try the following suggestions and see if it works.

1. Forget the ER7206 of "Disconnected" state from the Controller page (it will not actually reset ER7206 since it is not managed by the controller now).

2. Login the web UI of ER7206, go to System Tools > Controller Settings, and configure the Controller Inform URL with the IP address of your Controller host.
