Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 Build 20230213 rel.74634(4555)

Hi

In the specs for this router it states that it has new connection notification functionality.

https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-ax55/

However, I cannot find that option in the tether app. I've used this functionality previously on a Deco device and it was one of the reasons I purchased this router.

I've seen screenshots for other routers that show the option under Tools (under the LED Control option). But on my app I just see LED Control followed by IPv6.

Can anyone tell me where I can find it?

Many thanks
AJD

@Shenemanz

The Tether App has been updated regularly, and you may click on the three-line icon on the top-left, then go to App Settings, you will find the Notification settings as below:

Hello @AJDOZ

You can find the Notifications as per the below steps:

Tools > Notifications > New Device Alerts

If you still cannot find it, please check and make sure you've successfully enabled and configured the Parental Control under Family settings.

  @Kevin_Z

This option does not exist in my AX55 configuration using the tether app.

Please advise where I can find this setting as I am receiving a notification everytime a known device connects.

@Nolen

Please check my previous suggestions to AJDOZ and make sure you're using the latest Tether App.

If still no luck, please show us some screenshots of the Tether settings, and confirm what's the specific Tether App version on your phone. We may try to investigate further.

Hey. I'm also having the same issue. I am running version 4.2.42 (Build 344)

Just a quick update. I haven't been using this device as a router since I posted previously as I couldn't find the notifications option. Instead I've been using it just as an Access Point.

However, I've just set it back up as a router and the new connection notification option is there now. However, that's not actually what I was after. I was looking for the option to notify me when certain devices connect and disconnect. As per this page:

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2916/#:~:text=Once%20the%20wifi%20clients%20connect,Open%20the%20Tether%20app

I assume this device doesn't support that?

Thanks
AJD

@AJDOZ

Thank you very much for the update.

You are right. AX55 doesn't support the feature you linked. As you can see, only the models listed in that FAQ support it:
