Deco S7 vs M4
Deco S7 vs M4
I would like to buy a mesh systrm to resolve coverage issues in my house and I am doing some research to determine which series best fits my needs.
I would like to know what is the difference between the Deco S7 and Deco M4 other than speed.
Also, I read a number of negative reviews on the Deco S7 and I want to know wether it is a recommend model or whether I should stick to Deco M4.

Hi, welcome to the community.
There is a comparison of specifications between Deco S7 and Deco M4:
https://www.tp-link.com/en/compare/?typeId=5700&productIds=57674%2C42883
Deco S7 is a recommended model. And if you already have a Deco M4 kit, and just want to add one more to expand the wireless coverage, another Deco M4 is more recommended.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Thank you for the quick response. I did actually check the comparison page prior to initiating this thread. The thing is that if you look at the comparison, you'd notice that both models are identical in terms of specs with the exception of speed (also number of antennas & number of gigabit ports) and that's what actually led me to ask this question in the community.

hei, I have M4, ok to mix with S7? Or should I deactivate M4?

@Sahil_D The differences are only in speed, signal & gigabit ports.
Looks like you've already done enough research to choose one of them

@Sahil_D , I have 3-pack of M4 and just buy 3-pack of S7 for my mom house. And I've just found out that S7 can't set the connection preference. OMG!!!

@mee123 which connection preference? On either you want a 2.4 or 5ghz network.

@David-TP hey David, can you check if S7 doesnt really have bandwidth delimiter for the guest network? Or am I just missing something? It's not the case for the M-series.
And how can it be included in future updates?

@mee123 FYI, only hardware V4 of M4 can do that, other M4s can't
