TD-W8961N(EU)V4 Firmware Problem
TD-W8961N(EU)V4 Firmware Problem
Hi, i'm from Morocco, i bought a TD-W8961N(EU)V4 from local market. I have 2 problems with it:
1. A Network problem:
I configured my modem/router with my ISP info and it's connected and all fine, BUT, i keep getting disconnected from online games such as World of Warcraft which give me error code WOW51900319 witch related to MY own internet connexion.
I repeat, i'm keeping getting disconnected from the game NOT from my DSL connexion.
-- Please not that, it's a modem/router issue not games issue, because, when i use my old TD-W8960N v7 model/router i have absolutely no issues.
2. A Firmware problem:
In a attempt to solve problem N1, i wanted to do a firmware restore from TP link website, but i encountered 2 problems:
-----2A: In the website there only one firmware available, TD-W8961N(EU)V4_210205, witch is "older" than the one present in my device, witch is build 210914.
-----2B Can't restore the firmware, when i attempt to upgrade/restore i get the message: "the file was not accepted by the router"
Thank you for your support.

Hi,
1. When you disconnect from the game, is the other internet still working? Such as internet browsing on the same client device, or internet access on the other client devices still works or not?
2. If internet stops working on all client devices at the same time, please check if there is any change on the LED status especially the DSL and Internet LEDs
3. When the problem happens next time, please login the web interface of the TD-W8961N, then send us screenshots of the whole Status page and also system log file
4. May I know if the computer with the game is connected to TD-W8961N via Ethernet cable or via WiFi?
5. Who is your ISP? and when the issue happens, will it recover automatically after a few seconds/minutes?
In addition, regarding the firmware issue, your current firmware is the latest firmware for TD-W8961N(EU) V4, and it is not allowed to downgrade, that is why you are unable to install the older firmware, please stay on the current firmware and we could troubleshoot the disconnecting issue.

1. Yes, internet and all other stuff is working.
2. Internet doesn't stop working and all LED are good, it's just a disconnection from the game.
4. Connected via LAN
5. My ISP is Maroc Telecom, and as i mentioned i don't loose my ISP connexion, it's just a disconnection from the game, so there no recovery needed.
As of your Q n3:
For now i found a video on YouTube witch suggest that i need to deactivate all my PVCs expect PVC4 8/35 which has my ISP settings, also it suggest that i change the ADSL mode from Auto to Manual (ADSL 2+)
For now, been gaming for 3 hours straight with on disconnections.
Will keep testing more and i will keep you posted.
Please note that with my other router that is working great (TD-W8960N v7) i have all PVCs activated and ADSL mode on Auto with no problems, i don't understand why it's needed to be changed that way in the new router.
Also, in the new router, when i'm in the configuration pages, it hangs A LOT and when i click a tab it does noting and i'm forced to reload from browser and reenter router IP again et login again, very annoying.
